Mother's Side

My Grandfather (CSN E.P. Marsh) was a Craftsman in the 'Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers' from 1948 - 1950 as his National Service. Craftsman or CSN for short is the equivalent of Private in any other regiment.

My Great Grandfather (Private Arthur Halls) was serving in the Army Veterinary Corps (AVC) during the Great War of 1914-1918.

My other Great Grandfather (Leonard Levy) was an RAF ground crewman in the Great War of 1914-1918. Also, in World War 2 he worked in the Royal Gunpowder Mill at Waltham Cross (Hertfordshire).

My Great Uncle (Philip Halls) was on an RAF Rescue Boat stationed alongside 'Faith' 'Hope' and 'Charity' in Malta during World War 2.

My Great Great Grandfather (Private George Gilbert) in 'Regiment Unknown' fought against the Dutch Settlers in South Africa during the Boer War of 1899 - 1902.

Dad - Royal Corps Of Transport (Cadet) and an Essex Police Constable for two years after leaving school.
